Jimmy Ray Monroe

May 22, 1936 — January 1, 2014

Jimmy Ray Monroe, age 77 of Clinton, passed away peacefully in his sleep and went to meet his Lord and Savior on January 1, 2014. Ray was an ordained minister and loved preaching God’s word at Westside Baptist Temple where he was Assistant Pastor. He was a veteran of the US Army and served at Scholfield Barracks in the Heavy Weapons Infantry. Ray also was a Tile Setter for 35 years at Jenkins Floor Covering. He was preceded in death by parents, Thelma Irene & James Harley Monroe. Survivors include son, Randy Monroe, daughter, Janice Monroe, beloved grandson, Nick Monroe and lifelong friend, Lois Monroe, all from Clinton. He also had many dear friends who will greatly miss him. Funeral Service will be 7 PM Sunday at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel with Pastor Mike Earl and Pastor Justin Lowery officiating. Family and friends will meet at 1:45 PM Monday at Greenwood Cemetery for interment at 2 PM. The family will receive friends 5-7P M Sunday at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City.
