Jessie Charlene Merriman

Jessie “Charlene” Merriman, age 77 of Fountain City, passed away 4:00am Saturday, December 04, 2021. She was a member of Son Light Baptist Church and attended Nehemiah Church. She is preceded in death by beloved parents Jessie and Christine Rogers, and son Terry Schumaker. She is survived by loving husband Clyde “Ray” Merriman, daughter; Sharon Brown, three grandchildren, brothers; Stacy, James, and Rick Rogers, sister-in-law’s; Harriet (Paul) Capps and Jeannie Hurst, nieces; Kayla Capps and Cetera Hurst, nephew P.J. Capps, and several other nieces and nephews. Special thanks to UT Hospice and nurse Stephanie Estes and UT Neuro ICU, doctors, and staff. The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00pm Tuesday, December 07, 2021 at Nehemiah Church, 5713 Washington Pike, Knoxville, TN 37918 with funeral service to follow at 7:00pm, Rev. Eddie Myers and Richie Turner officiating. Family and friends will meet 12:45pm Wednesday, December 08, 2021 at Highland Memorial Cemetery (Sutherland Avenue) for a 1:00pm graveside service.
