Loving father and grandfather, Jerry David (Burky) Burkholder, age 82, passed away at home, Friday, August 11, 2023, in Knoxville, Tennessee. Jerry was born on October 26, 1940, in Lima, Ohio to William and Nina Burkholder.
In 1959, he graduated from Lima Senior High School. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corp, in January 1966. He received an honorable discharge in January 1968 from the Marine Corp. Jerry worked for Duff Truck Lines in Lima, Ohio for 30 years. In 1999, Jerry and his family moved to Sevierville, Tennessee. He worked for Dollywood as the Miller at the Grist Mill for 21 years.
Survivors: wife, Pamela S. (Patterson) Burkholder of 43 years of marriage; children: Christopher W. Burkholder (son) of Lima, Ohio, and Joy A. Burkholder (daughter) of Knoxville, Tennessee. Mother-in-law, Marilyn R. Patterson. Brother-in-Law, Terry (Vickie) Patterson of Utah. Granddaughters: Chelsea L. Burkholder and Sophia C. Burkholder and their mother Amanda (Wilson) Burkholder. Cousins: Charles Guyer, Deborah Guyer, Tasha Guyer and daughter, Ava Guyer. Daniel Tully and wife, Aimee (Guyer) Tully and children Adrienne and Brienne Tully. Proceeded in death by, William and Nina Burkholder (parents), Robert L. Patterson (father-in-law) and Meredith Kay Workman (aunt).
Jerry enjoyed fishing, golfing, painting, and hunting.
Family and friends will gather to honor and celebrate the life of Jerry on September 17, 2023, at the Milano Café on 2383 Elida Road, Lima, Ohio 45805 between the hours of 2:00 p.m. through 4:00 p.m. An additional Celebration of Life will be held on October 1, 2023, at Applebee’s on 207 Collier Drive, Sevierville, Tennessee, 37862 between the hours of 2:00 p.m. through 4:00 p.m.
