Pastor Jean Menes Valme, 54, was called home on March 15, 2017 after a long battle with kidney disease and diabetes. Menes loved caring for the least of these. He cared for many poor children in Haiti, several of whom he brought into his own home. Menes loved to be the hands and feet of Jesus to those who needed it most, whether it was a member of his congregation at Church of the Redeemer, or a stranger. Though his sickness brought him to the United States away from his home, he never lost hope that his heavenly home was waiting. He spent his last days praying and praising the God who created him, and redeemed him. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Beremy. Survivors include his loving wife Marise, and daughter Melissa. The family will receive friends from 5-7pm, Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel, with service to follow at 7pm, Pastor Jerry Bryant and Pastor Mark Zimmerman will be officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:45am on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Fort Sumter Community Cemetery for interment at 11am. In lieu of flowers, donations for travel and other expenses can be made to White Stone Church re: Menes family.
