It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jean (LaFollette) Dockery (Knoxville, Tennessee), who passed away on the morning of January 7, 2023, after a brief illness. Jean was the 11th of 12 children of the late Filmore and Debbie LaFollette, and was 85 years old. Her faith and hope were in Christ and she is in her heavenly home now.
She was a proud graduate of Harrison-Chilhowee Baptist Academy, and pursued a career as an operator with South Central Bell for over 30 years. Jean and Isaac, her loving husband of 61 years, raised a family of two daughters and two sons, and are long time members of Olivet Baptist Church. After their retirement, she enjoyed spending time on the screen porch with Isaac. She also enjoyed baking and delivering cakes and pies to many special friends. She was a loving and faithful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Jean was known for her feisty personality and will be remembered for her big heart and her joy in giving. Jean is preceded in death by her parents and siblings and son Michael. Survived by husband Isaac, daughters Deborah (Eric) Thomas, and Regina (Alan) Fox, son Brian (Laura) Dockery, grandchildren Chris (Hannah) Fox, Evan (Sarah) Thomas, Olivia (Austin) Harris, Nathan Reeder, and three great-grandchildren, Gracie, Hazel, and Warren.
