J.C. Chumley

JC Chumley, 93 of Knoxville, TN, peacefully passed away on February 18, 2022. Born in Claiborne County, TN to James R. Chumley and Cora C. Chumley. JC was fiercely passionate about trucking and dedicated his life to providing for his family. JC was a strong, kind, loving, and supportive father. His work ethic and love were the foundation of his family. He always had a laugh, a song, a dance or just a kiss on the hand to share. JC was a WWII Veteran for the US Navy stationed at Aleutian Is, AK. He was an avid bowler and a seasoned golfer. He spent most of his retirement bowling, playing golf and enjoying time on his farm. JC was preceded by his wife of 47 years Barbara Chumley, his children: Charles Chumley, Charlene Hale, Genise Chumley, Vanessa Jenkins (Mike), his siblings: Mildred Leffler (Roscoe), Delta Chandler (Norman), Evelyn Goin (Milton), Ward Chumley, Vivian Reynolds (Ray), Mary Margaret Chumley and Shelby Chumley. He leaves behind a daughter: Dalana Barnett (John); grandchildren: Joshua, Jennifer Barnett, Danielle Hale (Letyjuan), Kristin Lucas (Latrell), Ryan Lucas (Ashley), Michael Jenkins (Whitney), Crystal Jenkins (Mikey); great grandchildren Jayden Hale, Blaycyn Law, Kyleigh Moore, Kameron Law, Kinsley Newsom, Reed Jenkins, Kingston Burns-Jenkins, Hunter, Hallie, and Hayden Housewright. Family and friends will meet 2:45pm Friday, February 25, 2022, at Greenwood Cemetery for a 3:00pm graveside service. The family requests in lieu of flowers send donations to Samaritan’s Purse.
