Jay Terry Minor

Jay Terry Minor age 78 of Knoxville, TN passed away peacefully on April 26, 2023. He was a Vietnam Veteran of the United States Navy. He retired from Alcoa with 32 years of service and member of the Alcoa 25 year club. 

 

He is preceded in death by wife Linda J Minor, parents Fred and Rubye Minor, brother Gary J Minor, nephew Michael Minor. 

 

He is survived by daughter Terri Minor-Farner (Todd); step sons Jeff Jarnigan (Susan), Kenny Jarnigan; grandsons and Papaw’s best buddies Teryn and Tate Farner; other grandchildren CJ Jarnigan, Jan Teal, Jessica VanMeter, Jenny Jarnigan; several great grandchildren; brother Steve Minor (Leanne) and sister Vickie Smith; several nieces and nephews and extended family. 

 

The family would like thank the staff of Ben Atchley State Veterans Home for their excellent care and friendship. Also, the staff of Smoky Mountain Hospice for all of the care given in his final days especially Dr. Marie Morrison, Michael, Kisha and A.D. 

 

Special thanks to friends Bruce, Jim and Steve for not only being the best neighbors but best friends through the years and always looking out.

 

Family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, from 6:00pm- 8:00pm at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel. Family and friends will meet will meet on Thursday, May 4, 2023, at 1:45pm at East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery for a 2:00pm graveside service with full military honors provided by Tri-County Honor Guard.
