Jason Robert Byrd

Rev. Jason Robert Byrd MSSgt United States Air Force retired, age 94 of Knoxville, went home to be with the Lord November 27, 2017. Member of Faith Baptist Church in Rockford, Tn. Preceded in death by parents Elbert and Effie Byrd, wife of 70 years and the love of his life Minerva “Candy” Byrd and daughter Cathy Byrd, brothers Gwyn and Elbert Byrd, sisters Betty Bradley, Louise Patterson and Naomi Bean, beloved mother-in-law Matilda Caudill. Survivors, children Roger Byrd (Harriet), Debbie Huiting (Mike) and Tim Byrd (Susan). Grandchildren Misty Huiting (Scott LaRue), Kelly Johnson (Mark), Brooke McDonald, Kristi Pendley (Ben), Tiffany Halcomb (Jamie), Heather Byrd, Tommy Smith (Gina) and David Smith. Great grandchildren C.J., Cade, Caleb and Casen Johnson, Halee McDonald, Grayton and Isaac Pendley, Jaxon LaRue, Sydney and Lindsey Smith, Aaron Williams and Chelsea (Stewart) Cornett, great great grandchildren Carleigh Cornett and Tyler Williams, several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, special nieces and nephews and a host of friends, special friends Ellen Adcock, Steve Barbee (Cathy) and Ralph and Brenda Parton. Service 7:30 pm Thursday, Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel, Rev. Shawn Breazeale officiating. Family and friend will meet 10:45 am Friday at Woodlawn Cemetery for interment service at 11 am. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to be made to International Board of Jewish Missions, P.O. Box 1386 Hixion, Tennessee 37343.
