Janice Mynatt Smart

Smart, Janice Mynatt, age 67 of Powell, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at home. She was a member of Union Baptist Church and retired from Alpha Industries. Janice enjoyed gardening, spending time with her family and will be remembered for her gentle, caring spirit. She was preceded in death by her husband, soul mate, and best friend, Johnny Smart; mother, Frances Mynatt; brother, Jimmy Mynatt, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Rev. Haskew and Lucille Smart. Survived by sons, Jeff Smart, Jason and wife Lynn Smart; beloved granddaughter, Quinn Smart; sisters and brothers-in-law, Martha and Bill Townsend, Mary Lou and Jr. Chadwich; step-mother-in-law, Betty Smart; sisters-in-law and husbands, Jean and Johnny Rhyne, Carolyn Foster, Alice Hood, Terry and Kenny Widener, as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 7:00 pm Sunday, December 8, 2013 at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel with Rev. Scott Hood and Rev. Mike Segers officiating. Family and friends will meet 10:15 am Monday, December 9, 2013 at the funeral home and proceed to Ft. Sumter Cemetery for 11:00 am interment. The family will receive friends 5:00 – 7:00 pm Sunday, December 8, 2013 at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel.
