Jane Campbell Schmid

Jane Campbell Schmid, age 81, beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away November 11, 2013. Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Richard R. Schmid, Sr.; daughter, Katherine; and son, Richard. She maintained an active membership with Christ United Methodist Church in Halls Crossroads. Her heart and spirit were devoted to the Great Smoky Mountains and Cades Cove. Her warm smile and loving kindness touched all who knew her. She truly lived the motto, “Live well, laugh often and love much.” Jane is survived by her son, Robert Schmid and daughter-in-law Jami; daughter, Karen Jarrett and son-in-law Mark; daughter-in-law, Linda Schmid; granddaughters, Angela Jarrett and Betsy Schmid; great-grandson, Caleb; mother-in-law, Hazel Schmid; and sister-in-law, Jeannie Shelton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Friends of the Smokies, American Heart Association or American Cancer Society. Funeral service 11:00 am Thursday at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel with interment to follow at Lynnhurst Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5:00 – 7:00 pm Wednesday at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel.
