Jamie Geraldine Gibby

Jamie Geraldine Gibby, age 36, of Knoxville, TN, passed away on Friday, May 5, 2023.

She was a West High Rebel.

Preceded in death by her father, James (Jimmy) Gibby, Jr.; papaw, Richard Bowlin; uncle, Jay Gibby.

Survived by her extraordinary children, Jennifer, Haley and Jed (Bubba).

“Our beautiful mom has gained her wings and is no longer suffering. Just because she is gone, we know she is watching us every step of the way.”

Jamie also leaves behind many family and friends that loved her dearly. She was a beautiful young lady that walked upon this earth, and had to leave us way to soon. Jamie might have never been on time, but her presence would light up the room. Addiction controls the brain and makes you do or say hurtful things that you really don’t mean. One day we will learn to forgive her. One day we hope to understand. When our time on earth is done, she will be waiting to hold our hand.

A very special thank you to Davetta Hasty, Scott and Kristie Pittman and Powell United Methodist Church for being there for us when we needed you the most.

Family will receive friends for visitation on Friday, May 12, 2023, from 5:00pm until 7:00pm with a chapel service starting at 7:00pm with Pastor Kelly Acuff officiating. Family and friends will meet on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at 10:45am at Bookwalter Cemetery for an 11:00am graveside service. Pallbearers will be Bubba Lundy, Thomas Rose, Jimmy Gibby, Ben Brewer, Brandon Bowlin and Jed Lundy.

In lieu of flowers, family is requesting donations be made to Mynatt Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
