James Young Cassady born August 26, 1933, passed away at 9:45 p.m. at Holston Rehab Center on October 7, 2022, at the age of 89. He was the son of Charles Glen Cassady and Mary Young Cassady. He was active in Eastminster Presbyterian Church. He graduated from Central High School in 1951 and the University of Tennessee with a degree in Electrical Engineering in 1958. He was a Captain in the Army. He devoted his life to farming and repairing farm equipment. He was active in the CHS Class of 1951. He was a wonderful person and helpful to others throughout his life. Preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Glen Cassady; brother, Sam Cassady of Tyrone, GA; and nephew Pat Cassady of Monroe, GA. He leaves behind to mourn his passing 2 nephews, Chuck (Barbara) Cassady of Monroe, GA and Lee Cassady of Sevierville, TN; niece, Jeannie (Ross) of Panacea, FL; sister-in-law, Betty Cassady; cousins, Jane Witt of Knoxville, TN and Jack (Lynda) Wright of Seminole, FL; and many other nieces, nephews, and cousins who will miss him and his positive attitude. The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Family and friends will meet at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 12, 2022, then proceed to Lynnhurst Cemetery for a 1:00 p.m. graveside service, Rev.
