James W. Flanagin

James W. Flanagin, age 88, of Knoxville, passed away October 3, 2016. He was a Veteran of the US Marines and dedicated 25 years to the Knoxville Fire Department and 20 years to the John Beretta Tile Company. He was preceded in death by wife Doris T. Flanagin, son George Edward Flanagin, and sisters Marian Thompson, Evelyn Thompson and Ellen Dooley. Survivors include daughters Rebecca Smith and Babette Beeler, granddaughters Marti Smith, Misty Smith, and Laura Smith, grandson Joseph Beeler, and great grandson Aaron Ward. The family will receive friends 5-7 pm Thursday at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel. A Rosary service will follow at 7 pm with Deacon Scott Maenz officiating. Knoxville Fire Department will then be providing Honors and a Bell Service with Chaplain Carl Ford officiating. Family and friends will meet 1:45 pm Friday at Woodlawn Cemetery for interment at 2 pm with East Tennessee Veterans Honor Guard providing full military honors.
