James "Jimmy" Lewis Bell

James "Buddy" Bell, 86 of Powell, TN passed early Wednesday, August 28, 2024. Buddy was an active man in his early years, playing football and stickball with family and friends in Halls. Later he was racing various Chevrolet drag cars as a young man. James served in the Army in France for a short time maintaining military vehicles and welding as needed. 

James and his wife Joyce were charter members of the Temple Baptist Church of Powell. At church, his faith turned him from ways of the world to a devoted Christian. Buddy served as an usher for many years and was known by many people in the church.

The family will hold a visitation for James and will be in the Curtis Hudson Building at Temple Baptist Church 1700 W. Beaver Creek Dr. Powell, September 7, 2024, from 11:00am-12:00pm, and a service to follow at 12:00 noon.

In lieu of flowers James requested that donations be made to your local church because he knows the power of community and has seen it in his own life.
