James Howard Vandergriff, born on April 3rd, 1992, went to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on September 18th, 2022. James had a loving heart for all people he met. James attended Pond Gap Elementary, Northwest Middle and West High schools before moving to Chicago, IL.
James worked hard and became a manager at O’Reilly’s Auto Parts Store, then eventually started his own semi-truck detailing company. James is the father of Bryleigh Marie Breeden. He moved back to Knoxville, Tennessee in 2009 to be closer to his daughter. James attended Redemption Christian Center on Pleasant Ridge Road in Knoxville.
James is preceded in death by his father Victor Theodore Vandergriff, grandmother Cartha Tiller, grandfather Lindsey Dailey and uncle Ronnie Vandergriff.
James is survived by his grandmother Betty Dailey, grandfather James Tiller, mother Sonya Thourson, brother Jason Vandergriff, daughter Bryleigh Breeden, uncles John King, Rick Womack, Jeff Womack, Aunts Kay Marlow, Tina Johnson, Debbie McNeeley, Tammy Tiller, and many more cousins and relatives to announce.
The family will receive friends on Friday, September 23, 2022, from 6:00pm-8:00pm at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel. Family and friends will meet on Saturday, September 24, 2022, at 2:45pm for a 3:00pm graveside service at Byrd’s Chapel Cemetery.
