James Hascal Smith

August 16, 1932 — July 30, 2012

James H. (Jim) Smith, age 79, of Knoxville, passed away July 30, 2012. He attended Paw Paw Hollow Baptist Church and was a veteran of the US Army serving in the Korean Conflict. He was co-owner of Jim Smith Truck Parts and loved dirt track racing. He was preceded by parents Burney and Mary Lee Smith, sister Joyce Poindexter and brothers Bobby and Burney L. (Buddy) Smith. Survivors include wife Belva Smith, daughters and son-in-law Allison Thompson, Pam Smith and Rick Donley, sons and daughter-in-laws Burney and Brandi Smith, Eddie Henderlight, Joe Campbell, Mickey and Mari Campbell, Tommy and Karen Campbell, grandchildren Dominic, Griffen, Spencer, Jay, Jessica, Trevor, Brittany and Alicia, 7 great-grandchildren, brothers Rick Poindexter (Sue), Charles Poindexter (Faye) and special family Katie Green and Sharon Rogers several Aunts, & nieces & nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Paw Paw Hollow Baptist Church Building Fund. Funeral services will be held 8 pm Thursday with Rev. Ronnie White officiating. Family and friends will meet 9:45 am Friday at Thorngrove Cemetery for interment at 10 am. Family will receive friends 6-8 Thursday at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City.
