James E. Asquith, 72 of Knoxville, Tennessee passed away peacefully at his home after a year long battle with Glioblastoma on March 26, 2022. Jimmy was a member of Salem Baptist Church and a 1968 graduate of Fulton High School. He served in the United States Air Force and was proud to serve his country and be a Vietnam Veteran. He was retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad. Jimmy was a loving husband, dad and poppy. His greatest joy was getting together with family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Barbara (Graber) Asquith and his father-in-law, Ralph Floyd. He is survived by his loving wife of almost 51 years Ginger (Floyd) Asquith; his best buddy and son, Jason Asquith and his sweet wife, Vanessa Asquith; precious granddaughters Nichole, Jennifer and Korah Asquith; sister Anne Asquith; mother-in-law Betty Floyd; brother-in-law and sister-in-law John and Sharon (Floyd) Taylor; nieces Tracy Lee and Michelle Hamby; great niece Jamesyn Hamby and several cousins. Thanks to Dr. Rodney Sturgeon for his care and concern through the years. Thanks to Covenant Hospice for their excellent care. Extra special thanks to his hospice nurse, Cindy Roberts, for her compassionate, loving care. Also special thanks to his CNA, Donna Humbard and his caregiver, Julia Brown and to Brighter Days Home Care. The family asks in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to the Children's Ministry at Salem Baptist Church, 8201 Hill Road, Knoxville TN 37938. Friends may visit at their convenience on Monday, April 4, 2022 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel. Family and friends will meet at 12:15 pm on Tuesday, April 5th at East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery on John Sevier Hwy for a 12:30 pm interment service officiated by Rev. Allen James and Rev.
