James Earl Dyer

James Earl Dyer, age 86 of Corryton, passed away on Friday, November 8, 2024, at his home surrounded by family. He attended Nehemiah Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Orice Dyer, brothers, Kenneth and Charles Dyer, and beloved dog, Marley. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Helen Foster Dyer, daughter, Janice and son-in-law, Jimmy Brown, grandchildren, Dylan (MacKenzie) Pruitt, and Jake Pruitt, great-grandchildren: Ellie Pruitt, Annie Pruitt and baby girl Pruitt arriving in February; sister, Virgie Hickle, brother, Dennis (Pat) Dyer, and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Smoky Mountain Hospice for their wonderful care, especially nurse Shania Mailahn. The family will receive friends Monday, November 11, 2024, from 5:00 pm- 7:00 pm at Mynatt Funeral Home, Halls Chapel, followed by a 7:00 pm funeral service officiated by Rev. Richie Turner. Family and Friends will meet Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at 10:45 am at Graveston Baptist Church Cemetery (Tazewell Pike &, Clapps Chapel Rd, Corryton, TN 37721) for an 11:00 am interment service officiated by Rev. Jim Yeary.
