James E. (Jimbo) Duncan, born August 25, 1951, received his wings of Gold in Heaven to play and sing for the angels and his Heavenly father as he was surrounded by his family on June 24, 2021. He was residing with his sister, Anita Coward, at the time of his passing. He was owner and operator of Jimbo’s Central City Floral for 20 years and worked in the floral department at Star Sales for 33 ½ years. He also worked at Fort Sanders Hospital for 4 years. He was the pianist for Ridgeview Baptist Church for several years and presently for 22 years at Olivet Baptist Church. He sang and played for over 3,000 funerals from the age of 18 until his passing. He was known and loved by so many folks and never met a stranger. He was a licensed clergy and loved to perform weddings, especially at his friend Claudia’s venue, Country Jewel Wedding Chapel. He liked nothing better than being at the piano singing gospel music for his friends and family. Preceded in death by father, James B. Duncan; mother, Locha Marie Ray Duncan; brother, Steven Ray Duncan. Survived by brother, Robert L. Duncan of Powell; sisters, Joyce Bradley of Oliver Springs, Ginger Shelton of Powell, Anita Coward of Clinton, Tammy Collette (Ernie) of Powell; several nieces and nephews.
