James D. Kirk, age 75, of Corryton, passed away peacefully at home on February 14, 2018. He was 6-year veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a graduate of Holston High School and a member of Clear Springs Baptist Church. He loved volunteering at the church’s “Hope Mission House at the Crossroads.” He was a former member of the Volunteer Street Rod Association. He retired from ORNL in Oak Ridge after 27 years of service. He was preceded in death by parents, Earl & Dorothy Kirk. Left to cherish his memory are wife of 51 years, Freda Kirk; son, Todd Kirk (Brandi); daughter, April Baker (Daniel); grandchildren, Trevor, Cameron, and Skylar; step-grandchildren, Aspen, Nathaniel, and Payton; brother, Paul Kirk (Linda); sisters, Barbara Roland and Pauline Smith. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Clear Springs Baptist Church for the Nursery security cameras, 7350 Tazewell Pike, Corryton, TN 37721. The family will receive friends 4:00-7:00 pm, on Monday, February 19, 2018 at Clear Springs Baptist Church in Corryton, with funeral service to follow at 7:00 pm. Family and friends will meet by 10:30 am, Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at the church to go in procession to Lynnhurst Cemetery for graveside service at 11:30 am. Those that are honored to serve as pallbearers are Trevor, Cameron, Nathaniel, Fred Lee, Richard Tilley, and Jerry Howard.
