James F. Dew age 95 of Halls, formerly of Norris, to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 8, 2023. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was an active member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church and the Phil Lay Sunday School Class. Upon graduation from Norris High School, he made his home in Detroit Michigan where he met and married the love of his life, Juanita Frost. He was the original founder of Re-Steel Contractors Association of Detroit, where he was a contractor for many years. Upon returning to Tennessee, he lived in Norris and then became a residence of Halls since 2005. He loved his Lord, wife, family and friends. He liked to golf, fish and go to West Knoxville to be with his sons. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in Korea 1950-1952. He married Juanita in the same year 1952.
Preceded in death by parents: Sam and Roxie Dew, Sisters; Unia Dew -Daugher, Ann (Roy) Stewart, Brothers Randy (Linda) Dew, Donald Dew, and Clyde (Lorraine) Dew.
Survived by, loving wife of 71 years; Juanita Dew, Sons: Ron (Jill) Dew and Rob all of West Knoxville, Grandchildren: Gabe, Nick, Bayley, Alli, and Alex (Cara),Ryan(Abby). Great-grandchildren: Knox, Elin, Nash, and Raimi Lou, Sister-in-Law Judy Dew. Several nieces, nephews, other loved ones and friends.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 am -1:00 pm Saturday, March 11, 2023 at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel. Family and friends will meet 1:45 p.m. Saturday, March 11, 2023 at Norris Memorial Gardens for a 2:00 p.m. graveside service Dr. Alan Price, Jeff and Joel Dew officiating followed by full military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Pat Summit Clinic 1932 Alcoa Highway, Knoxville, Tn 37920.
