Rev. James “Jim” Paskel, age 88 of Knoxville went home to be with his Lord and Savior on May 8, 2021. He was a longtime member of Westside Baptist Church and served as the teacher of the Mother’s Sunday School Class for 42 years. Preceded in death by his parents Coy and Ellen Paskel; grandson Aaron Paskel, great-grandsons, Craig and Conner Comparato, along with two sisters and two brothers. Survivors include his loving wife of 70 years, Nema Ridenour Paskel; sons: David Ray Paskel and wife Kay, and Michael J. Paskel and friend Cathy Lester; daughters: Brenda Haynes and husband Craig and Gail Shelley and husband Pat; ten grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and sister-in-law Bernice Kegley. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Mynatt Funeral Home Chapel, Fountain City with a funeral service following at 8:00 pm with Rev. Josh Greene officiating. Family and friends are asked to meet on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 by 1:45 pm at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens for a 2:00 pm graveside service. Pallbearers will be Will Ellis, Tristen Paskel, Hayden Paskel, Ethan Paskel, Mike Comparato and Brian Paskel. Honorary pallbearers will be Mace Ward, Jerry Webster and Jamie Chittum.
