James Carl Mcdaniel

James “Carl” McDaniel, Sr., age 80, of Knoxville, passed away May 24, 2016. He graduated from Horace Maynard High School in 1953. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in 1989 and his Master’s Degree in 1993 from the University of Tennessee. He was a charter member of Halls Community Lions Club for over 50 years. He was also the past District Governor of the Lions Club International District 12-N Tennessee from 1998-1999. He worked for KUB as a Power Operation Supervisor for 33 years and worked for TEMA for 8 years. Preceded in death by parents, Silas and Lucille McDaniel. Survivors include wife of 49 years Jennie Haney McDaniel; children, Jim McDaniel and Kelly McDaniel; brothers, David and Eddie McDaniel; sisters, Judy McDaniel Paul and Wanda McDaniel Jackson; special brother Donnie Boles; and several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 6-8pm Friday at Sharon Baptist Church with service to follow at 8:00pm. Family and friends will meet at 10:45am for an 11:00am Saturday at Sharon Baptist Church Cemetery.
