Jake Austin Sneed

Jake Austin Sneed, age 45 of the Gibbs community, passed away January 25, 2025. Preceded in death by maternal grandparents Everett and Ruth Dunsmore, paternal grandparents Etta Mae and Paul Parker and Marshall Sneed, aunt Sharon Sneed, mother of his children Sarah Ryder and her parents Jim and Mary Ryder, aunt Kim Dunsmore. Survived by son Chandler Sneed, daughter Kylie Sneed, parents Marshall Gary Sneed and Karen Sneed, brother Marty Sneed (Terri), Kary Seymour (Parish Plantin), several aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends. Special thank you to Dorothy Jones and girls, and Mae Ryder Cretsinger for the love and care that they have shown to Jake’s children. Jake will be remembered for his kindness and loving spirit. He has been known to give his “last dime” and “shirt off his back” to anyone in need or get up in the middle of a cold winter night to help a friend with a heating problem or car problem. He enjoyed work with his dad in the home building and remodeling business. He often said he could never imagine living anywhere else or working anywhere else. The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00pm Thursday, January 30, 2025, at Mynatt Funeral Home, Halls Chapel with service to follow. Rev. David Walton and Jeremiah Baker will be bringing the message.
