Jackie Henderson Hitch, age 80 of Knoxville, passed away peacefully in the early hours of Thursday morning, April 21, 2022 while under hospice care at American House Assisted Living facility. Jackie was a 1959 Graduate of Halls High School. Jackie earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Library Science from East Tennessee State University and her Master’s Degree in English from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She spent numerous years teaching and serving as Librarian within the Knox County School System. Jackie was a member of Christ United Methodist Church and spent many years using her beautiful singing voice with the Sweet Adelines where she made many lifelong friends. She loved the beach, enjoyed traveling and cared deeply for animals, especially the many dogs she cared for throughout the years. Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Helen Mynatt and special cousin Patsy Brock who was like a sister to her. She is survived by her brother, Chris Mynatt and special friend Pat Crumley Parrish. A visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at Christ United Methodist Church with a celebration of Jackie’s life to follow.
