Jack Ray Bohanan

Jack Ray Bohanan, age 78 of Powell, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2019 surrounded by his family and close friends. He was a longtime member and deacon of Smithwood Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Ruby Bohanan; father and mother-in-law, LeRoy and Nellene Buckner; and brother, Jerry Bohanan. He is survived and will be greatly missed by his wife of 58 years, Carol Buckner Bohanan; children, Debbie Bohanan-Moreland (Brian) of Knoxville, Tennessee and Kim Bohanan-Smelser (Kevin) of Marietta, Georgia; grandchildren, Andy Smelser and Bradley Smelser both of Marietta, Georgia; sister-in-law, Janie Bohanan; nieces, Linda Bohanan and Kelli Bohanan; nephew, Joe Bohanan; as well as numerous fur babies. Family and friends will gather at Lynnhurst Cemetery on Saturday, January 19th at 10:45am for an 11:00am interment, Rev. Jeff Lane and Rev. Pam Neal officiating. Military Honors provided by East Tennessee Veterans Honor Guard.
