Jack R. Welch, age 64 of Halls, passed from this life into the arms of Jesus Christ his Lord and Savior on July 4, 2013 at Ft. Sanders Regional Medical Center. He retired from Roberts Shaw/ Fulton Bellows after 37 years. He coached girls softball for many years. To know this special man was to love him. Preceded in death by niece, Crissy Sexton; father-in-law, Jim Waggoner; his parents, Fowler and Velma Welch; special brothers-in-law, Frank Coffey and Wayne Dawson. Survived by loving and faithful wife, Donna; daughter and son-in-law, Tracie and Chris Thomson, son, Greg; loving and devoted sister and brother-in-law, Elizabeth and Gary Lindner; mother-in-law, Nell Waggoner, step grandchildren, Kimberlyn and Ramsey Thomson; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Sue and Don Sexton, Ken and Chris Waggoner, Dorothy Stallard, Wilma Coffey, Glenn and Wilma Waggoner, Joann and Sebern Huskey; inherited grandchildren, Charlie (light of Pappy’s life), Katlynn, Kaelynn, Mercedes, Morghan and Mayci; many loving nieces and nephews; also survived by other brother and sister, Clyde and Gail. Funeral Service will be 8:00 PM, Saturday, at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City with Rev. Ralph Waggoner officiating and special music by Miranda Wright. Family and friends will meet at 1:15 PM, Sunday, at Mynatt’s Fountain City and proceed to Ft. Sumter Community Cemetery for 2:00 PM interment. Pallbearers are Greg Welch, James Tucker, Rich Stallard, Randall Medley, Steve Hunley and Brandon Martin. Honorary pallbearers are Don Sexton, Gary Lindner, Ken Waggoner, Glenn Waggoner, Sam Cox, Walt Waggoner and Roger Flatford. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 PM, Saturday, at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City.
