Jack M. Monroe, age 64 of Knoxville, passed away April 29, 2014. Jack was retired from Gerdau Steel. He was a Vietnam Veteran, avid fisherman, enjoyed camping, and loved animals. Preceded in death by parents, William Monroe and Irene Needham. Survived by wife Nancy Monroe; sons, Ed Monroe and wife Cindy, Jason Monroe and wife Heather; step son, Dennis Skaggs and wife D’Ann; step daughter, Donna Vickery; grandchildren, William, Devin, Justin, and David; brothers, Von Monroe, Bob Monroe, and Allen Monroe; several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Disabled Veterans Foundation or charity of choice. Family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 pm Saturday at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel, memorial service to follow with Rev. John Teffeteller officiating.
