Jack Brown, age 80, of Powell, went home to be with the Lord on July 10, 2017 at 4:36am. He was the owner and operator of Halls Paving Co. for many years. He was a member of New Pleasant Gap Baptist Church. He enjoyed singing and playing music. He loved his family and friends and he enjoyed his life. Preceded in death by loving wife Carolyn Brown. Daughter, Vanessa Bruner and granddaughter, Trish Brown. Twin brother, Johnny. Brothers, Bill, Clarence and Bob. Sisters, Nell, Liz, Iona, Katherine, Margaret and Mossie Lee. Left behind to cherish his memory are children: Gail (Herbert) Boles, Jack Brown Jr., Bob (Wendy) Brown, Nancy (Mike) McHaffie, David (Julie) Brown and Joyce (Michael) Dupes. 16 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. Only living sister, Jane Dalton and a special caregiver and friend, Lula Clevanger. Funeral service 8pm Wednesday, Mynatt Funeral Home, Halls Chapel. Rev. Michael Dupes, Rev. Leonard Goin and Rev. Jerry Walton officiating. Family and friends will meet at Mynatt’s Halls Chapel by 9:30am Thursday and proceed to Mt. Harmony Cemetery for interment at 10am. Pallbearers: Josh Dupes, Bobby Brown, Blake Massengile, Teddy Williams, Ronnie Jones and Ray Lashley. The family will receive friends 5-8pm Wednesday at Mynatt Funeral Home, Halls Chapel.
