Jack Edward Eschman, beloved father and grandfather, age 85, died on October 18, 2016, following an illness. A life-long resident of Knoxville, Mr. Eschman graduated from Knoxville High School in 1947. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, having served during the Korean War. He retired from the Knoxville Utilities Board after twenty-six years of employment. Mr. Eschman was preceded in death by his daughter Jamie McGill, as well as his mother and step-father, Dorothy and Lee Kidd. He is survived by Joan Eschman, children Jeff Eschman of Vance, South Carolina, Jerry Eschman (wife Janet) of Knoxville, Tennessee, Jill Startup (husband Dan) of Norris, Tennessee, and Joe Eschman of White Pine, Tennessee, son-in-law Ivan McGill of Knoxville, TN, and nine grandchildren. Following cremation, there will be a celebration of life and receiving of friends at Mynatt Funeral Home in Fountain City on October 30, 2016 from 2:00-4:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his name to Knox PAWS (Placing Animals With Seniors) P.O. Box 51650, Knoxville, TN 37950, a program created through donations from his mother.
