Iva Lee Poston

Poston, Iva Lee went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 24, 2018. She was a devoted Christian, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was an active member of Wallace Memorial Baptist Church since 1973. She retired from the Knox County Schools in 1984. She became the care taker of her beautiful granddaughter, Amanda. She was the ultimate homemaker, hostess, and entertainer. She loved her family passionately. Her grandson, Michael, was an outstanding care taker. She is much loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She is preceded in death by parents Samuel Lawrence and Mary Jo Lawrence; husband of 64 years William R. “Bill” Poston; daughter Linda Gribble; son-in-law Reed Gribble, Jr.; sister Margaret Hill; Howard Hill; brothers Robert Lawrence and Tommy Lawrence. She is survived by loving daughters Beverly Meredith and son-in-law Jeff Meredith, and Pat Crumley and son-in-law Mike Crumley; grandchildren Chris Crumley and wife Sherry Crumley, Michael Gribble, and Amanda Meredith; and great-grandchildren Ryan and Alex Crumley. Pallbearers Ryan Crumley, Alex Crumley, Michael Gribble, Chris Crumley, and Larry Clark. Family will receive Friends from 5:00pm until 7:00pm Thursday, November 29, 2018 at Mynatt Funeral Home Hall’s Chapel. Funeral service will follow starting at 7:00pm with Rev. Kent Williams and Dr. John Greene officiating. Family and friends will meet at Roseberry Cemetery on Friday, November 30, 2018 at 10:45am for an 11:00am interment.
