Iva Bell Smith

SMITH, IVA BELL - age 93, of Powell, passed away Thursday morning, August 29, 2013, at The Bledsoe County Nursing Home. Iva loved to cook, sew, quilt, garden, enjoyed teaching ceramics, making porcelain dolls and giving to others, but most importantly was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Iva was preceded in death by her husband, Howard M. Smith; parents, Albert and Hattie Farr; sister, Carrie Nicely. She is survived by her children, Priscilla Deakins of Pikeville, TN, Patricia Livesay of Maryville; grandchildren, William (Sherri) Deakins of Pikeville, TN, Becky (Gregg) Ridley of Pikeville, TN, Greg (Tracie) Livesay of Alcoa, Thomas (Kimberly) Deakins of Farragut; twelve great grandchildren; sister, Ruby Roehl of Fountain City; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday at the Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel with a celebration of life to follow at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Steven DeFur officiating. Family and friends will gather at 4:00 p.m. at Lynnhurst-Greenwood Cemetery for graveside services. Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel, 4131 E. Emory Road is serving the family.
