Irene Smith Fowler

Irene Smith Fowler, age 81, resident of Powell, passed peacefully into the arms of the angels during the early morning hours of March 5, 2014. Born April 16, 1932 in Knoxville, she was a resident of East Tennessee all of her life attending Central High School class of 1950. Irene was a member of Calvary Baptist Church Heiskell TN, and member of the Eastern Star of Burlington. She was a dog lover who enjoyed arts and crafts, ceramics, baking, and reading mystery novels. Irene was one of eight children belonging to Icey Belle Car Smith and Charles Smith. She is preceded in passing by her parents, and Husband of 51 years Richard V Fowler Sr. She leaves behind her son Richard V Fowler II, his wife Janice Fowler, her granddaughter Chrissy Fowler-Graves and husband Michael Graves. Family and friends will meet 10:45am Saturday at Highland Memorial Cemetery South for graveside service at 11am. Family will receive friends 5-7pm Friday Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel.
