Inell D. Oliver, age 85, of Corryton, Tennessee, passed away peacefully Monday morning, June 27, 2022 at her home. Inell began her career at Standard Knitting Mill, then to Levi Strauss Company. She finally retired from Knox County School System after twenty-seven years of faithful service at Gibbs High School and Gibbs Elementary School, retiring in 2000 along with her husband, Edward Leo Oliver. Inell and Edward were married for fifty-eight years until his passing in December 2018. (He was a fifty-year member of Corryton Lodge #321.) Inell enjoyed cooking large meals for all of the holidays throughout the years for her family, friends and neighbors. Her pride was her cornbread, fried apples and stack cakes. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and crafting numerous blankets, throw rugs, comforters, quilts and curtains. She was a master at creations of many practical and useful home and household items that would make any house feel like a true home. Inell was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edward Leo Oliver; parents, George Lynch and Nervie C. Davis; brother, Johnny Davis and sister, Margie Davis. She is survived by her son, Dean E. Oliver; sisters, Argel Buckner, Blanch Snelson; brothers, Ben, Wayne and Bert Davis. Inell raised their only son with pride, love and joy, but her time spent at Gibbs Elementary was the pinnacle of her career, as she was not only Dean’s Mom, but every kid’s “Mom” in the community during the school year. “I miss you both daily and I love you both dearly. It has been my pride and joy to be your only son. It has also been my blessing and honor to have you as my parents. I’ve always been honored to call you my mom and dad. Thank you, Mom. Thank you, Dad. I will reunite with you both in Heaven on a glorious day, your son, Dean Edward Oliver.” The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Friday, July 1, 2022 at Mynatt Funeral Home, Halls Chapel with a 7:00 PM service to follow. Reverend Steve Ailor officiating. Family and friends will meet 11:00 AM Saturday, July 2, 2022 at Greenwood Cemetery for graveside service. Online condolences may be sent to www.mynattfh.com.
