Ina Maxine Karnes Stanaland, age 89, of Powell, TN, passed away peacefully Saturday, November 26, 2022. She was born July 4, 1933, in Corryton, TN to the late L.C. and Cora Karnes. Her passions were her family, faith and working in education with "her" middle school children. Ina was a member of Knoxville First Seventh Day Adventist Church for over 80 years. In addition to raising her 5 children, she was a teacher and assistant principal for Knox County Schools for 30 plus years. She loved traveling with and caring for her family. Preceded in death by Husband, Cary Asters Stanaland and Son, Timmy Jay Stanaland. Survivors: Son, Mickey A. Stanaland; Daughters: Rhonda (Cowan) Crippen, Valerie (Gus) Newman, and T.J. Turley. Grandchildren: E. C. Crippen, Keri (Adam) Martin, Megan (Jen) Aguil-Crippen, Joshua (Laurel) Newman, Daniel (Kayla) Newman, Elle and Abby Turley. Great grandchildren: Amelia, Rhys and Finn Martin, Liam Aguil, Daisy and Rosalie Newman, Lee Newman. A host of other family and friends. Thank you to special caregivers: Ginger Harris, Niece and Kayla Newman, Granddaughter. Family and friends will meet at 1:45 p.m. Thursday, December 1, 2022, at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens, 160 Edgemoor Road Powell, TN for a 2:00 p.m. graveside service. Pallbearers: E. C. Crippen, Joshua Newman, Daniel Newman, Adam Martin, Christ Hudson, Andy Mitchell, Jeff Harkleroad and Joel Sanner. There will be a Celebration of Life service 5:30 p.m. Thursday, December 1, 2022, at the Knoxville First Seventh Day Adventist Chruch, Pastor Ed Komorowski officiating.
