Ima Jean Cox (Mamaw), age 95, of Powell, went to be with The Lord October 20, 2013. She was the owner and operator of Cox's Grocery and Snack Bar Heiskel Road for many years. Preceded in death by husband Franklin Esco Cox Sr.; son Franklin Esco Cox Jr.; daughter Linda Shadrick; parents James and Jodie Sisk; grandson Gary Lee Blackburn; 3 brothers and 3 sisters. Survived by children and spouses Patricia Collier, Eddie and Connie Cox, Reba and Ronnie Weaver, Shirley and Jimmy Monroe, Leroy and Gerry Cox, numerous grand children, great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren; brother Maurice (Bud) Sisk; sister Adeline (Addie) Hamlet; numerous nieces and nephews; lifelong friends Mary Seaver, Frances, Raymond, and Freddie Price. Family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff of Ben Atchley St. Veterans Home and Amedysis Hospice for the loving care. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to American Cancer Society. Service 8pm Wednesday Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel, Chaplain Clay Mulford officiating. Family and friends will meet 1:45pm Thursday at Bookwalter Cemetery for interment at 2pm.
