Ila Mae King Finchum, age 79, of Corryton, passed away on September 8, 2017, after a hard fought battle. She was a member of Clapps Chapel United Methodist Church. Ila loved cooking for her family and her happiest moments were spending time with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Finchum, Sr.; parents, Allison Virgil King and Estella Thurman King; sisters, Evelyn Carpenter and husband Bill, Linda Dockery and husband Jim; brother, Edward King, Sr.; sister-in-law, Evelyn Burton King; and brother-in-laws, Gene Branch and Carl Horner.
Ila is survived by daughters, Rebecca Finchum, Robin McNeil and husband Robert; son, Billy Finchum, Jr. and wife Teresa; grandchildren, Robert and Nicholas McNeil, Michelle Finchum, Anna Ellison and husband Alex; great grandson, Raylan Ellison; brothers, C.R. “Bob” King; Jim (Ann) King, Richard (Nitaya) King, A.V. (Polly) King, Jr., Danny (Charlotte) King, Hugh (Cathy) King; sisters, JoAnn (Ralph) McMillan, Mary Horner, Marlene Branch and Frances (Paul) Daugherty; sister-in-law, JoAnn King; special friend Jerri Beeler; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Clapps Chapel United Methodist Church Building Fund.
The family will receive friends 5-7PM Monday at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel with funeral service to follow at 7PM, Rev. Toby Everette officiating.
