Hyatt Hoyt Lansdell

Hyatt Hoyt Lansdell, age 85 of Powell passed away Thursday, April 17, 2025 at his home. Hoyt served in the United States Air Force and was retired from the United States Air Force where he served as the Deputy Under Secretary of the Air Force International Affairs. He loved telling stories to the people he came in contact with. Hoyt loved traveling and spoke several different languages. He was a longtime member of Sharon Baptist Church. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Lansdell, parents, Hearn and Margaret Lansdell; brothers, Mac Lansdell and IQ Lansdell and sister, Pat Long.

Hoyt is survived by his sister, Nadean Dayand several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 4:30pm-6:30pm Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at Mynatt Funeral Home Powell Chapel with a funeral service to follow at 6:30pm. Pastor Mark McCoig and Dr. Jim Robertson officiating. Family and friends will meet at 12:45pm at Berry Highland South Memorial Park on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 for a 1:00pm interment service with Military Honors given by the Tri-County Veterans Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Hyatt's honor to Sharon Baptist Church, 7916 Pedigo Road #4635, Powell, TN 37849.
