Hugh Wallace Sherlin

June 19, 1923 — April 14, 2018

Hugh Wallace Sherlin, age 94, passed away at home on Saturday, April 14, 2018, after a lingering illness. He always had a smile, a kind word to offer, and will be missed by many. Hugh retired from East Tennessee Packing Co. after many years of service. He was a WWII Army veteran and member of Temple Baptist Church (Woodrow Drive). Preceded in death by wife of 56 years Cora Jones Sherlin and several beloved brothers and sisters. He leaves to cherish his memory, wife of 11 years Rose Barnes Sherlin; stepson Danny Barnes (Drama); stepdaughter Patsy Rosenbaum (Kenny); several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; sister Barbara Mynatt; brother Albert Sherlin and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will meet 12:45PM Tuesday at Greenwood Cemetery for 1PM interment. Family will receive friends 5-7PM Monday at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel with service to follow, Pastor Charles Lawson officiating.
