Hubert Ray Larue

Hubert Ray Larue, age 81, passed away on Wednesday, November 10, 2021. Hubert is recognized a unofficial/official historian of Halls demonstrated through love and devotion of years of time, research, collections and displays shared of many discoveries around and of Halls Crossroads. Locating and self-funding thousands of historical pictures he made available at no cost. Hubert donated his historical items and findings to Halls Crossroads Women’s League, which has plans to start a museum. Other awards and recognitions include: Halls High School Wall of Fame, Halls Man of the Year, Volunteered at Jett McHaffey Cemetery, Thomas Hall Cemetery, and Fort Sumter Community Cemetery. Hubert loved his community and selflessly devoted countless hours of time, resources and money, often unpublicized for years in which family only become aware from the receivers sharing their gratitude later. Hubert spent the last 22 years with his wonderful and devoted loves of his life, Susie LaRue. He is loved and will be missed by his family, yet so happy he is now home in Heaven. He is preceded in death by father and mother, Bennett and Minnie LaRue; sister, Barbara George; mother-in-law, Eva Sellers. He is survived by his wife, Susie (Vineyard) Mynatt LaRue; children, Ray LaRue, Jr. (Pam), Brad LaRue (Jan); step-children, Tracy Mynatt (Janet), Chris Lawson (Shelly); several grand children and step-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Special thank you to Salem Baptist Church, Avalon Hospice, Halls Crossroads Women’s League, many family and friends with a special thanks to Kelly Weaver. Family and friends may call at their convenience on Friday, November 12, 2021 from 12:00pm until 5:00pm in the Parlors of Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel. Family and friends will meet on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Ft. Sumter Cemetery at 1:00pm for a graveside service officiated by Rev. Toby Everett and Rev. John Holland. In lieu of flowers, family is requesting donations be made to Ft. Sumter Cemetery or the Alzheimer’s Association. Online condolences can be made at www.mynattfh.com
