Howard Eldred Shoudy, “Scientific Grandpa”, age 77, of Knoxville, passed away Monday, November 2nd, 2020 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. Howard was a Veteran of the US Army, where he was a Chief Warrant Officer 2, having served as a helicopter pilot in Vietnam. He earned various service medals including the prestigious Air Medal with 6 Oak Leaf Clusters. Howard always put his family first and never missed the opportunity to turn any and everything into a teachable moment. He was a dedicated member of Powell Presbyterian Church where he thoroughly enjoyed singing in the church choir. He is survived by his wife of 43 years Joyce Shoudy, his children Michael Shoudy and spouse Heather Shoudy, Brian Shoudy and spouse Dana Shoudy, Georgiann Hill, Eric Smith and spouse Suzette Durand, along with his beautiful grandchildren Abigail Shoudy, Olivia Shoudy, Laikin Shoudy, Addison Shoudy, Houston Shoudy, Fallon Shoudy, Aimee Couture, Adam Couture, Garrett Hill, Violet Smith, his brother Donald Shoudy and spouse Valerie Shoudy, and his nieces Heather and Amber. Howard was predeceased by his father Eldred Shoudy and his mother Lucille Kilian. The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00pm on Monday, November 9th at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel with service to follow, Rev. Katina Sharp officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:45am Tuesday, November 10th, 2020, at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel, 4131 E. Emory Road Knoxville, TN 37938, and proceed to East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery for an 11:30am graveside service with military honors provided by the East Tennessee Veterans Honor Guard. Pallbearers: Michael Shoudy, Brian Shoudy, Eric Smith, Houston Shoudy, and Adam Couture. Funeral services for Mr. Shoudy will be livestreamed at www.facebook.com/hallslivestream.
