Hobert Donald Jennings, age 74 of Knoxville passed away on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at U.T. Medical Center. He was of the Baptist faith. He was a U.S. Army veteran during the Vietnam era. Hobert was a former steel worker and auto mechanic. He attended Rule High School, and was raised a “Lonsdale Boy”. He is preceded in death by parents, Dewey and Grace Jennings; sister, Margaret Welch and Thelma Jennings; grandparents, several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, to numerous to mention. He is survived by his wife, Georgia; sons, Donnie, James and Mike (Katie) Dykes; daughters, Anna (Kareem), Sharon and Alice (Tony); grandchildren; Tiffany (Alexec), Ashley (Josh), Jessica, Brianna, Jaron, Mark, Mykel and many great grandchildren, brothers, Van “Buddy” Jennings (Kay), Hubert Jennings (Anita), Dewey Lee Jennings (Carol); sisters, Linda Jennings, Brenda Rogers; aunt, Mildred Jennings; numerous nieces and nephews, and grandchildren; life long friend, P.D. McCarter and Pantry. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of U.T. Medical Center Trauma ICU for the wonderful care given to our loved one, and the kindness shown to the Jennings family. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, September 23, 2021 at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel followed by a 7:00 p.m. funeral service. Family and friends will meet at 8:15 a.m. Friday, September 24, 2021 at East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery for an 8:30 a.m. committal service with full military honors provided by the East Tennessee Veterans Honor Guard.
