Herbert Eugene (Gene) Turner

Herbert Eugene (Gene) Turner, age 83, of Knoxville, Tennessee passed away September 6, 2017, after fighting several courageous battles with cancer. He was a long time member of Bookwalter United Methodist Church. He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Betsy Ann (Green) Turner; three daughters, Stephanie Culver (Eddie), Leslie Boggs (Rusty), and Amy Fields (Kenny); 6 grandchildren, Heather Woolridge (Brian), William Culver (Emily), Thomas Miracle, (Stephanie) Allyson Stokes, (Wesley) Blake Culver, and Dustin Boggs and 8 great-grandchildren; brother, Paul Turner; sister, Judy Farmer, and many special nieces and nephews, and special friends, David Lord, John Bailey, and Joe Hawkins. The family would like to express their gratitude to Vivian Pate, Vickey Rice, Vickie Parton, and Avalon Hospice for making his battles easier in the last year. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bookwalter United Methodist Church sound system. The family will receive friends 5-7pm on Sunday at Bookwalter United Methodist Church, with service to follow at 7pm. Rev. Steve Doyal and Rev. David Lord will officiate the service.
