Henry Clinton Ruth III

Henry Clinton Ruth III, age 73 of Seymour, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, August 19, 2023 surrounded by his family and friends. Faithful member of Marbledale Baptist Church, and Ron Mayes Sunday School Class, where he served many years as Youth Director, Deacon and where he enjoyed singing and playing guitar every chance he got. Henry entered the US Army in 1968 for 6 years, and then went into the US Air Force for 14 years. He retired from X-10 Oak Ridge after 33 years. He was an avid motorcyclist. He loved to camp for many years at Lost Creek Campground.  Preceded in death by his parents; Henry C Ruth II and Lydia Ruth. Sister; Carolyn Finchum. Survivors; wife of 54 years, Glenda Ruth, children; Missy (Brad) Sharp, Jeremy Ruth, grandchildren; Gabe Sharp (Ashton), Lydia Sharp, Cy Ruth (Baileigh), Solomon Sharp, Hannah Ruth, Levi Ruth, expected great grandchild, Harper Sharp. Sister Gail Burnette, several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at Marbledale Baptist Church located at 5935 Thorngrove Pike, Knoxville, TN 37914 followed by a 7:00 p.m. Celebration of Life service. Jeremy Ruth and Rev. Danny Neal officiating. Family and friends will meet at 9:45 a.m. on Thursday, August 24, 2023 at East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery (John Sevier) for a 10:00 a.m. committal service Rev. Charlie Lynch officiating with dual military honors provided by the East TN Honor Guard. Memorials may be made to the Pat Summit Foundation 520 W. Summit Hill Dr. SW # 1101, Knoxville, TN 37902.
