Henry E. “Gene” Hansard was born to Edna and Prior Hansard March 9, 1940 and went home to be with Jesus on February 19, 2013. Retired from the 134th Air Refueling Wing of The Tennessee Air National Guard and was a member of First Baptist Church Fountain City. Preceded in death by parents Prior and Edna Hansard, brothers Prior Hansard, Jr., William “Bill” Hansard, sisters Edith Hansard, Ruth Cox, Zella Hansard, stepson Leonard Lawson. Survived by wife of 49 years, Bessie Hansard, children, Jay and Valaree Hansard, David A. Hansard, and Patty and Marty Davis, grandchildren Brandi Lawson, Ethan Hansard, Isaac Davis, Justin Davis, Trent Davis, Savannah Hansard, great-grandchildren, Bradlee, Caleb, and Natalee Lawson, sisters and brothers-in-law Helen and Clarence Steele, Sadie and Joe Henke, sister-in-law Lynn Hansard, many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends that he loved. Service 2pm Friday Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel with interment service to follow at Lynnhurst Cemetery. Special thanks to the D.C.I. Dialysis Clinic Staff and fellow patients and to the members of The 134th Air Refueling Wing who were near and dear to him.
