Helen Ruth Wells

Helen Ruth Duncan Wells, 83, Knoxville, TN departed her earthly body and entered into her heavenly home on January 28, 2021 surrounded by loved ones. Helen was the daughter of Jacob and Marie Duncan. She was preceded in death by her children David and Donna Ray as well as her granddaughter Stefanie Johnson. Survivors include siblings Bertha (Leon) Curry, Bud Duncan and Sally (Dale) Akins. Daughters: Rhonda Van Horn, Nancy Pickel, Mary Jo (Bud) Romero, Sally (Sonny) Shankles, Penny (David) Copeland, Betsy (Brad) Carter. Grandchildren: James, Jennifer and Seth Van Horn, Brandi Sweeten, David Pickel, Jessica, Matt and Nick Schulenberg, Trey Romero, Hannah Speights, Will, Samuel, Andrew, Sarah and Jacob Shankles, Kenzie and Kaiya Cruze, Caleb Copeland, Kristin Majors, Dalton Huskey and Taylor Carter. 23 Great Grandchildren. Best friends for many years, Mildred Johnson and Fran Mellon. Helen had a passion for rescuing stray cats and dogs, watching professional wrestling, gardening, quilting, and working jigsaw puzzles. Helen possessed a feisty spunk within her that was genuinely inherited by her children. She was loved by so many and will be deeply missed. A private graveside service will be held on Monday, February 1, 2021 at 1:00 pm on the cemetery grounds at New Gray Cemetery. Condolences may be left at www.mynattfh.com.
