Helen M. Atkins

Atkins, Helen M. – age 91, of Corryton, went to her Heavenly home on August 19, 2018. Preceded in death by loving husband Rev. Fred H. Atkins, precious son Lawrence Gene Atkins, parents Robert and Biddie Spires, brother Lon & Ruth Spires, sisters Gertrude & Jesse Perkey, Jessie Mae & Hal Huffaker, and Gladys & Berlin Garrett. Survivors: sons Howard & Gail Atkins, David (Duck) Atkins, Mike Atkins and Monica Bailey; twelve grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, brothers Raymond & Aurelia Spires, and Wayne & Tommy Spires; daughters-in-law Christine (& Lonnie) Parker, Tammy Atkins, and Debbie Griffith, brother-in-law Bill Lawson, and special friend Cleo Lee. Helen was a faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church in Corryton for many years. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5:00-7:00pm at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel, with funeral service at 7:00pm, with Marcus Atkins, Frank Lord, and Rev. Tim Inklebarger officiating. Family and friends will meet 10:45am, Thursday, at East View Memorial Gardens for interment at 11:00am. Pallbearers: Grandsons and Great-grandsons.
