Helen Hansard

Helen Hansard, age 101 of Powell, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2016. She was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church. She was a devoted Christian wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great great-grandmother. Preceded in death by husband, Charlie L. Hansard; parents, Russell and Lula Satterfield; daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and James Smith; grandson, Alan Smith; brother, Robert Satterfield; sister, Mary Arnold, and several half-sisters. Survived by granddaughter, Christine (Kenneth) Waggoner; grandson, Steve Smith; great-grandchildren, Tammy (Scott) Turpin, Melissa (Mick) Dockery, Dr. Deirdre Leake, Dakota James Smith, Chelsey England; great great-grandchildren, Miranda Wright, Logan Turpin, Landon Turpin, Andersen Leake, Jack Leake, and Olivia Van Rensburg. The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 pm Friday at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel with funeral service to follow, Rev. Jack Gwinn officiating. Pallbearers will be Scott, Logan, and Landon Turpin, Barry Scarborough, Steve Smith, and Dakota James Smith. Family and friends will meet 10:30 am Saturday at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel and proceed to Cedar Grove Baptist Church Cemetery for 11:00 am interment.
