Hassie Harriet Cooper

Hassie Harriet Rouse Cooper, of Knoxville, went home to be with the Lord at Holston Health and Rehab Center March 2, 2013, at the age of 96. She was a member of Dutch Valley Baptist Church. She touched many lives in her lifetime and all who knew her have many special stories and memories to share. She was the last living child of Nick and Lizzie Sharpe of Sharps Chapel, TN. She was preceded in death by husbands Paris Rouse and John Cooper, and son Ralph “Rooster” Rouse. Survivors include sons James Earl Rouse (Ann), Terry Cooper, A.C. Cooper (Linda), and Eddie Cooper (Dottie), daughters Liz Horner and Susie Newman (Tommy), 14 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law Ida Sharpe and Ina Sharpe, and a host of nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff of Holston Health and Rehab for their love and outstanding care. A special Thank You to her devoted in-home caregivers Linda Jennings and Vickie Higgins. Grandsons will be serving as pallbearers. Funeral services will be 8 PM Monday at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel with Rev. Dennis McCoy and Rev. Jerry Vittitoe officiating. Family and friends will meet 1:15 PM Tuesday at Greenwood Cemetery for interment at 1:30 PM. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Monday at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City.
