Harry J. Ballard

Harry J. Ballard, age 93 of Knoxville, went home to be with the Lord on June 23, 2023. He was a deacon of Cedar Grove Baptist Church. All his life he lived for the Lord and sang for a quartet with his wife Mary, brothers Jim and Bill, and some dear friends. Harry was a member of Valley Masonic Lodge #383 for over 50 years. He worked at the Standard Knitting Mill as a machinist for 40 years until it closed. He enjoyed working on his little farm with his cows and spending time with his family and friends. Harry is preceded in death by the love of his life and wife of over 70 years, Mary Kate Ballard, parents George and Blanche Ballard, brother Jim Ballard, and grandson Scott Ballard. Survived by sons Ted and wife Jennifer Ballard of Heiskell, TN, Wayne and Kathy Ballard of Knoxville, TN, daughters Kathy and husband Tim Wallace of Andersonville, TN, Carol and husband Tim Witt of Knoxville, TN. Harry adored his grandchildren: Scott, Kelly, Derrick, Nathan, Misty, Katie, Leigha, 11 great-grandchildren, brother Bill Ballard of Andersonville, TN, several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends 5:00-7:00pm  Friday, June 30, 2023, at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel. Funeral and Masonic services will be held 10:00am Saturday, July 1, 2023, at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel with interment to follow at Humphrey Cemetery.
